The 6-Day Damp-Cure Protocol
- Step 1: Do not fill the pool immediately. Chris’s team will advise on the damp-cure timing.
- Step 2: Once filled, brush the walls twice daily for 14 days to remove “laitance” (dust).
- Step 3: Do not use an automatic pool cleaner (Kreepy) for the first 21 days to allow the PoolCrete to reach full 25 MPa hardness.

The Chemical Balance Formula
- Calcium Hardness: This is the most important factor. Keep your Calcium between 200–400 ppm.
- The Science: If the water is “calcium hungry,” it will try to pull minerals out of your lining, creating the osmotic pressure that leads to blisters.
- pH Control: Maintain a pH of 7.2 to 7.6. Extreme pH spikes damage the NCS Poolcoat finish.
Professional Equipment Care
- Backwashing: Perform a backwash and rinse on your Quality Superflo filter once a week or after a heavy Gauteng thunderstorm.
- Pump Basket: Clear the Speck Badu basket regularly to ensure the motor doesn’t run dry.
