Before: Low Pressure, Sinking Paving & Stagnant Green Patches
A residential concrete pool in Sunward Park was losing roughly 4cm of water a day, causing the surrounding brick paving to sag noticeably next to the skimmer. The pump was sucking massive amounts of air, blowing constant bubbles out of the return line, and couldn’t pull enough vacuum pressure to move the pool cleaner, leaving the far side of the pool stagnant and green.
After: Sealed System, Aligned Paving & Crisp Water Circulation
We excavated the sagging paving and replaced a completely cracked skimmer weir body that was leaking water directly into the subsoil. We cut out the brittle suction plumbing and upgraded it to high-pressure Class 12 pipes. The pool light housing was extracted and resealed with new waterproof gaskets. After leveling and relaying the paving bricks, the system was turned back on—instantly priming with zero air leaks, full vacuum pressure, and completely balanced water flow.
Recent Project Showcase: Emergency Suction & Weir Repair in Beyers Park
This local project highlights our speed and precision when tackling urgent plumbing breakdowns and structural leaks in Boksburg.
The Problem
A client in Beyers Park reached out to us because their pool pump was running dry, making a violent rattling sound, and failing to clean the pool. The water level was dropping rapidly, and the ground right next to the skimmer box had turned into a muddy swamp, causing three rows of paving bricks to sink due to water expanding the local clay soil.
Our Solution
Chris inspected the installation and isolated two major faults. First, the main plastic skimmer weir body had split down the back due to heavy ground movement. Second, the old low-pressure pipe directly underneath it had cracked open. We carefully lifted the sunken paving, dug down to expose the structural connection, and removed the broken weir. We installed a heavy-duty, reinforced weir box, plumbed it using industrial Class 12 high-pressure piping, and sealed the wall joint with non-shrink waterproof compound.
The Result
The entire suction system immediately regained full vacuum pressure, allowing the pool cleaner to run perfectly. The pump now primes instantly with zero air in the basket, and the water level is rock-solid. We leveled the ground, relaid the paving bricks neatly, and completed the entire job in less than 24 hours.
Premium Materials & System Components We Rely On
We do not use cheap, generic imitation parts or low-grade hardware store fittings that split under pressure. Every repair and component replacement we execute features genuine parts from South Africa’s leading manufacturers:
🛡️ Speck Pumps Spares & Motors
We utilize genuine German-engineered Speck impellers, lid O-rings, mechanical shaft seals, and replacement motors to ensure your pump runs completely silent and at peak efficiency.
🛡️ Quality Pools Heavy-Duty Hardware
Precision-molded replacement skimmer baskets, weir vacuum lids, and high-pressure return aimflow jets designed to seal perfectly against your concrete pool shell.
🛡️ Eartheco Multiport Valves & Filters
Industrial-strength replacement multiport valves, internal spider gaskets, and internal sand filter laterals built to handle high daily operating pressures without cracking.
🛡️ Class 12 High-Pressure PVC Piping
We completely avoid thin, budget pipes. All of our underground plumbing repairs are executed using thick-walled, Class 12 high-pressure PVC pipes and pressure glue to guarantee your lines survive future ground shifts.

High-Impact Pool Repair Checklist
- Is the pump motor completely silent, humming loudly, or clicking without starting?*(Indicates a capacitor or electrical failure)
- Are there constant air bubbles visible through the clear pump lid or blowing out the returns?(Indicates a suction leak on the weir or pipe lines)
- Is water running out of your waste pipe while the filter handle is set to “Filter”?(Indicates a worn spider gasket inside your multiport valve)
- Has your pool cleaner stopped moving even after you backwashed the filter?(Indicates old, calcified filter sand or low suction pressure)
- Is the paving around your skimmer box damp, soft, or starting to sag?(Indicates a cracked weir body leaking into the subsoil)
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my pool has a real plumbing leak or if it's just evaporation?
During the dry winter months on the East Rand, a pool can naturally lose around 5mm to 8mm of water per day due to evaporation. A quick way to test is the “bucket test.” Place a bucket filled with water on your pool step, match the water level inside the bucket with the pool water level, and mark it with tape. Check back after 48 hours. If the pool water has dropped significantly lower than the water inside the bucket, you have a structural or plumbing leak.
Why is a leaking pool light dangerous?
While pool lights run on a safe, low-voltage transformer (usually 12V), a water leak inside the light housing or cable conduit allows water to short out the circuit. This instantly trips your home’s main earth leakage protection switch, cutting power to your house or pump room. If left unsealed, the water can slowly corrode the electrical cables inside the conduit pipe.
Can a noisy pool pump be repaired, or does it need to be replaced entirely?
If your pump is making a loud screaming or grinding noise, it usually just means the internal bearings have failed because water has leaked past the mechanical shaft seal. We can easily open the motor, press in fresh bearings, and install a new shaft seal on-site for a fraction of the cost of buying a whole new pump setup.
