Engineering Success: Our Structural Rescue Case Studies

Case Study 01: 15-Stitch Stabilization in Irene Clay Soil

The Challenge (The Problem)

  • Location: Irene, Centurion.
  •  Issue: Vertical structural fracture in a 50,000L Marbelite pool caused by shifting dolomite/clay soil.
  •  Risk: Total shell collapse and water loss of 2,000 liters per day.

The Crispy Solution (The Engineering)

  •  Method: Structural Crack Stitching using high-tensile carbon steel staples.
  •  Materials: Stitches set in high-modulus structural epoxy with a Scott Bader Isophthalic fiberglass reinforcement layer.
  •  Supervision: Chris personally verified the tensile bond before the final Cemcrete PoolCrete application.

Case Study 02: Rescuing a Delaminated Fiberglass Shell

The Challenge

  •  Location: Waterkloof, Pretoria.
  •  Issue: Severe osmotic blistering and delamination due to poor original manufacturing and chemical neglect.

The Crispy Solution

  •  Process: Complete strip-down of the old lining, followed by industrial grinding to reach the virgin substrate.
  •  The Finish: Applied a multi-layer NCS Poolcoat 73 system with reinforced 450gsm matting.
